Raven-Symoné is opening up about undergoing cosmetic procedures as a teen.
The Fastexy ExchangeThat's So Raven alum shared she underwent two breast reductions and liposuction before the age of 18, revealing that her dad signed off on the decision.
"There was paperwork involved," she told wife Miranda Pearman-Maday during the Aug. 7 episode of The Best Podcast Ever with Raven and Miranda. "My dad suggested strongly that I should get my breasts reduced. He was like, ‘So you don't feel bad, is there anything that you want?' I was like, ‘Yeah, if I get lipo, will people stop calling me fat?'"
Raven, who starred in her namesake Disney Channel series for four years until its 2007 end, referred to the series of medical procedures as a "twofer."
"It was just a mess," she continued, "just being that young and the pain of it all."
The Cheetah Girls alum, now 37, also revealed that her health took a scary turn after she suffered a seizure post-operation, noting that the complication still "freaks her out a bit."
"I remember waking up and seeing everything," she recalled, "and then I just started to have this dry mouth and couldn't breathe and went back under."
And though the Raven's Home star advised others to hold off on considering surgery until they get older, she also shared that she has mixed feelings on her breast reductions years later.
"I don't know if I regret it," she noted, "because they grew back not to that big of a size."
Raven has previously opened up about her weight loss journey, sharing that she lost 30 pounds over a span of three months in 2021. However, she also explained at the time that her regimen was what worked best for her specifically.
"I don't try to speak for anybody else," she told Good Morning America that June. "I'm not over here trying to be a little twig."
As the Cosby Show alum noted, she completed her lifestyle change to "make sure that my body is healthy and prepared to deal with old age."
