Craig Conover is charmed by Paige DeSorbo's vulnerability.
The Southern Charm star gave an update on how his girlfriend is doing after revealing that she recently experienced her first panic attack.
"I was actually at a work dinner in Missouri and my partner noticed my phone was being—she was calling me, so I answered and she was having a panic attack and I was able to work her through it," he exclusively told E! News host Keltie Knight at the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards. "It was scary for everyone involved, because you’re not there to help and she was so brave and she pushed through."
Craig praised Paige's willingness to share her experience with co-host Hannah Berner and their fans while on tour for their Giggly Squad podcast's live show.
"In her awesome nature of transparency, she shared it with all of her listeners that night at the show," he said. "What we realize is the more honest we are with stuff, people are like, ‘Oh me too, me too.'"
Now, Paige is working through what her panic attack means and perhaps what contributed to her difficult moment.
"So, she’s on this journey trying to figure it out, because it came out of nowhere," Craig shared. "She’s sharing this journey with everyone, and I hope she’s able to connect and help others."
The Sewing Down South founder's show of support came two days after Paige opened up on the Sept. 24 episode of Giggly Squad about the experience, which she said came right before taking the stage for a live show.
"I had my first real legit panic attack," the Summer House star shared. "The crazy thing about anxiety is that you don't know what it's about."
"I was about to go onstage in front of 3000 people, so you can be like, 'Oh yeah, it's stage fright,' except that I've done that 50 times before," she continued. "I've been on reality TV for six years, you cant say anything to me that's going to rattle me at this point, I was part frustrated because I was like, 'What is going on what my body?'"
Paige explained that she'd previously had "general anxiety" but "never really felt panic attacks the way that people would describe them," adding that she'd "never been on medicine for anxiety before."
"I was always like, 'I'm stronger than that. This is all in my head. I'm strong enough to tell myself to snap out of it,' and I just wasn't," she said. "Admitting that to yourself is part of the battle."
Paige credited taking a beta blocker with helping to alleviate the physical symptoms she experienced as part of her panic attack and was ultimately able to take the stage for the Giggly Squad live show.
"I didn't plan for this to happen," she explained. "This is my job so I know I can do it. It's obviously something that's happening for me that I need to figure out."
The Amazon Live host made sure to thank her listeners for sending through tips and supportive messages during the ordeal.
"I'm so thankful to the other Gigglers," she gushed. "Because I did feel less alone."
While Paige didn't join Craig at the PCCAs, plenty of other stars also hit the carpet. Keep reading for more stars at the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards.
