Sophia Bush's Love For Wicked Has a Sweet One Tree Hill Connection

Sophia Bush is a sentimental woman when it comes to Wicked.
Which is why the One Tree Hill alum was feeling especially honored to be attending the Los Angeles premiere of the film on Nov. 9.
"I am so thrilled to be here," Sophia gushed to Zuri Hall and Justin Sylvester on the red carpet, "on a night about magic and community and artists and women overcoming the odds."
And the night was extra meaningful, as it gave Sophia—who looked stunning in a Harbison Studio split dress, which featured pink and gold flowers on one side, and white and red on the other—a chance to look back on the first time she saw the musical version of Wicked. And it turns out she was joined by a few very important ladies in her life.
"Way back in the day when Wicked first premiered on Broadway," she recalled, "my girlfriends from One Tree Hill and I—me, Bethany Joy Lenz and Hilarie Burton—got tickets cause we heard there was a new show on Broadway that was pretty cool."
To get your tickets for Wicked, premiering Nov. 22, click here.As the 42-year-old explained, none of them knew a thing about the show at the time, but they were "so excited to go." And of course, they were blown away by what they saw.
"Unbelievable," Sophia said of the experience. "I remember Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel—it was so unbelievable."
And the musical felt especially poignant to the Chicago P.D. star, as she appreciated that the show was a "testament to female friendship" and focused so much on "women overcoming the odds."
Sophia added, "We could use that right now."
She also took a moment to share what a dream it's been joining the cast of Grey's Anatomy during the show's 21st season, joking that, "The lovely internet reminded me that my first episode aired this week."
"I realized that Kim Raver and I had made all the girls online very happy," she laughed, "so thank you so much."
And Sophia is having an incredible time working on the Shonda Rhimes-created series.
"That show is, a) iconic and b) the set is just the happiest, most wonderful place to be," she said. "Shonda has created something that's so legacy and I'm having the best time."
