According to the website Cicada Mania, Brood XIX will be found in 14 states across the Southeast and Midwest, and Brood XIII will be in the Midwest. The two broods will likely overlap in Iowa and Illinois.

The two broods will begin to emerge when the soil 8 inches underground reaches 64 degrees, and are often triggered by a warm rain. They will likely emerge beginning in mid-May and last through late June.
